Following up on mesomelas's previous post, I ended up with an all wheel drive dodge journey thing. I've got one passenger going so far and I can fit two more people (unless one person brings a LOT of luggage) so if anyone wants/needs a ride, let me know via comments or shoot me an lj message for my contact info.

Rides
I am not sure if everyone has figured out there ride situation yet to and from the airport, but I am open to provide rides from the airport to Copper Mountain. I have a wagon with a ski rack so fitting all your crap shouldn't be too big of a problem, just hope you like dog hair. :) Gas money would be nice, but I am not hurting for it, costs about 15 dollars for my car to go to Copper from the Denver area one way.

Let me know if you have not figured out your ride situation yet.

Change of Dates
The dates for FSW 2011 that were originally posted on the site were incorrect. We've since updated the site, and the correct dates are Feb. 24 - 27. Hopefully we already got in contact with everyone who this will affect, and we're sorry if this complicates your plans.

If you have any other questions or concerns, just let me know and I'll do my best to quickly get you the answers. ^.^

number of attendees of 2008-2010?
How many attended this year's Furry Ski Weekend? 21? 22?
(I see 21 in http://www.flickr.com/photos/jentfoo/4384453177/ )

How many attended in 2009 and 2008?
(Wikifur article says 38 in 2008, but seem to be 37 names in list posted 2008-02-11 ten days before the event)

Want to add attendance number to article at Wikifur.

Looking for a photo
I'm looking for a really good quality shot of the group photo we had taken in suit at the bottom of the ski hill, I have a few, but some of them have the people on the end cut out a little bit, I'm sure someone managed to snap a nice one. Reason I want it is because I want to get an 8x10 picture framed for myself :)

Sunday Night Lodging Options
So at the moment we are looking at between 12 and 15 people staying Sunday night. Here are a few options I have found to cover 12 people (or more if we fudge the numbers):

  • Comfort Suites Dillon (12 miles from Copper): 3x, 2 Queen rooms: $396 total (Priceline)
  • Ramada Limited Frisco (8.8 miles from Copper): 3x, 2 Queen rooms: $389.31 total (Priceline)
  • Copper Mountain Center Village:
    • Telemark - (2x) Silver Studio - Murphy, Bunk Bed and 1 Single (6 Adults): $492.58 (Travelocity)
    • Copper Springs - (2x) Gold 2 Bdrm East Village - 1 King, 1 Queen, and 1 Single (6 adults): $849.58 (Travelocity)
There are a ton of hotels in Dillon/Frisco which are all ranging from $100-$130/night. There are also many available in Breck.

So if people want to do their own thing that is fine. But in the next week we should try and figure out who is rooming with who, and where.

question for suiters.
So this will be my first 'fsw' trip. (Hopefully not my last either!) I'm curious how many bring their suits? I don't intend on skiing with mine on because I've actually never been skiing before, so I doubt I'll suit up and kill myself on the hill, but I'm wondering if I should still bring my suit even if I dont plan on wearing it skiing. No point in lugging it down if its not worth it.

Payment info
If you paid via the paypal button posted in this journal ($340) for FSW please read this post.

Due to a miscalculation in our original paypal button, we have undercharged you by $30. We here at FSW would like to apologize for having missed this issue early on; having taken so long to bring it to your attention; and that we will need to ask that you pay this remainder.

We can imagine that this may be frustrating for you, and because we are responsible for this discrepancy, if you cannot cover the full $30, then we will only ask you to pay $20, and we won't require this payment until the day of. For the convenience of those who wish to pay before FSW , we will shortly create a post on the FSW LJ community to allow you pay.

If you've paid for more than one person, each instance of a person is accountable for this cost. This only applies to individuals who are staying in one of the smaller houses.

Again, we apologize for this error, and we thank you for helping us make FSW a wonderful time for all involved every year. Please email me if you have any questions

Season Gear
Hey all, name's Strife (some know me as Swift) and I'm from the Seattle area, or Snoqualmie specifically.  New to FSW and thinking bout going this comin year and getting ready for the ski season.  Just wanted to introduce and see what kinna peeps are on this group :3

I guess as an ice breaker... what kinna gear do people have ready for FSW or the ski / snowboarding season coming up?

I personally have a pair of Salomon Foils 1080 (twin tip alpine skiis) with Rossignal Axl bindings, and Tecnica Vento 8 boots.  Just got them re-heat-fitted in anticipation of the ski season which for me in Snoqualmie, should hopefully begin in a month.

Me n' a couple of furries in the Seattle just got our season passes for the local ski resort up there (The Summit), so if anyone is thinking bout visiting the Seattle area interested in doing some skiing or snowboarding.... lemme know ^^'  Could always use some more ski buddies :3

Anyway, here's hoping to meeting some of you eventually and getting some skiing done :D
